Housing & Meals

All students will be housed together in a residence called The Social Hub (TSH)—a welcoming place to truly call home in Florence.

The residence is safely and strategically located, within an easy 25–30-minute walk of the Stanford in Florence center. The walk to school becomes an integral part of daily life in the city. Students pass through the historic heart of Florence, walking by the Duomo, crossing some of the great Florentine piazzas, and following some pedestrian-only routes through streets animated by cafés, workshops, and local life. It is a daily immersion in Florence’s architectural and artistic heritage that encourages students to explore, slow down, and discover new corners of the city each day.

Living together in the same residence fosters a strong sense of community and enhances student safety, making it easy to stay connected and not feel isolated. In addition to the Stanford cohort, TSH hosts students and young people from around the world, creating daily opportunities to interact with both international and local residents. The residence also offers a wide range of shared facilities, including co-working spaces, a music room, a cinema space, a gym, a communal kitchen, and laundry facilities.

TSH further enriches student life by organizing free community events and classes. On-site security is available 24/7, ensuring a safe, supportive, and comfortable living environment throughout the program.

Stanford students are accommodated in single rooms with private bathrooms and receive a 19-meal plan. Check out the breakfast!
